First Aid Refresher Courses

The First Aid at Work Refresher Course complies with the current Health & Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981. This course refreshes and updates the First Aid skills of those who need to renew their First Aid at Work Certificate and whose existing First Aid Certificate is still valid.

The HSE are now allowing First Aiders whose certificates have expired 28 days grace in which to renew their qualification before they must attend the full three day First Aid at Work course.

Course content:
  • Dealing with accident and emergencies
  • Using a first aid kit
  • Record keeping
  • Resuscitation
  • Treatment of an unconscious casualty
  • Choking
  • Treatment of heart attacks
  • Control of bleeding
  • Burns and scalds
  • Fractures and soft tissue injuries
  • Shock
  • Head injuries
The course is run over two days and gives the delegates the knowledge and confidence to deal with First Aid emergencies within the workplace. On completion of the course a HSE approved certificate is issued that is valid for three years.

The HSE strongly recommend that all holders of this qualification attend an annual first aid update course.
